Meritorious Service Medal 'This Warrant Officer has served in the capacity of Regimental Quarter-Master Sergeant for about twelve months and his work especially during the period 21st September 1917 - 25th February 1918 has always been of the most serviceable nature. It is in a great measure due to the earnestness and interest this Warrant Officer takes in his work that the sick evacuations, whilst the Battalion has been both in and out of the Line, have been kept at so low a figure. During the periods that the Battalion is in the forward Sectors, Regimental Quarter-Master TURNER acts as forward Quarter-Master and no risk is too great for him to undertake as long as he is able to personally satisfy himself that the rations are quite up to standard in every detail, and despite difficult weather and shelling, he always makes it his personal business to see that rations arrive at their proper destination and up to time. Regimental Quarter-Master Sergeant TURNER has previously been brought to notice for his excellent work as Cook Sergeant. He is strongly recommended for distinction.'
