Military Medal

'Is recommended for his excellent work and devotion to duty during the operations near ZONNEBEKE on 26th September, 1917. His work in establishing communications between the Machine Gun Battery Headquarters and Group Headquarters was most satisfactory and during the morning of the 26th September, 1917, he many times repaired the wire under extremely heavy shell fire. Throughout, his work was mostly under shell fire, and at all times his eagerness to perform his duty was most marked. He is recommended for the Military Medal.'
