Attached for duty to Australian Corps Signal Company, 17 April 1918. Found guilty, 4 May 1918, whilst on Active Service, of contravention of S.O. 383, viz: (1) No look-out man (2) Exceeding speed limit: awarded 24 hours' Field Punishment No. 2. Appointed Lance Corporal, 26 June 1918.

On leave to Paris, 24 July 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 6 August 1918. On leave to England, 16 August 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 4 September 1918. On leave to England, 24 March 1919; rejoined unit from leave, 9 April 1919. Rejoined 6th Australian Motor Transport Company from detachment, 5 May 1919.

Disembarked Southampton for return to Australia, 5 June 1919; commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Takada', 18 July 1919; disembarked Melbourne, 7 September 1919; discharged, 16 October 1919.
