Wounded in action, 24 September 1918; admitted to 10th General Hospital, Rouen, 25 September 1918 (gun shot wound, right thigh); invalided to England, 28 September 1918, and admitted to Granthingwell Hospital, Chichester, 29 September 1918. transferred to Military Hospital, Chichester, 16 October 1918. Granted furlough, 19 October 1918, to report to No. 1 Command Depot, Sutton Veny, 2 November 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Orca', 19 February 1919; disembarked Sydney, 3 April 1919; discharged, 25 May 1919.
