| Other details from Roll of Honour Circular | The 8th F.C.A.E. was waiting in Ypres from 20/10/17 prior to withdrawal finally for a spell and billeted in a long shed containing closely packed bunks, adjacent the P.O. and Baths. During shelling about 1.30am on 27/10/17 a 5'9" or 6" got home. Total casualities 23 or 24 about half of whom were killed outright or died of wounds. All casualties had been together for roughly 12 months. |
