War service: Western Front Embarked Sydney, 1 May 1916; disembarked Plymouth, England, 9 July 1916. Proceeded overseas to France, 23 November 1916. Attached for duty with 9th Divisional Signal Company, 3 April 1917; transferred to 9th DSC, 30 December 1917. On leave, 7 August 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 20 August 1918. Found guilty, 24 November 1917, of while on Active Service, contravention of Routine Order 1599 in that he was absent from his Billet after 9 pm: awarded forfeiture of one day's pay.
