Military Medal

'On the night 15th/16th October, 1916, during a raid on the German trenches near DIEPENDAAL. He was in charge of a bombing section and displayed coolness and courage. Owing to being delayed by hostile wire, the only other member of his section to enter the hostile trench with him was Private CLARK, but without delay or hesitation they carried out the work detailed for the section to do.'
