Military Medal '5th October, 1917 - This N.C.O. was controlling the Traffic on the BELLEWAARDE Plank Road. On the day in question the road was blocked by shell crater - in consequence a great deal of through traffic for WESTHOEK was held up. This N.C.O. at once to the assistance of the engineering party and through his energy, coolness, and example materially assisted in clearing the road.
