Military Medal 'In an operation against the enemy position near STRAZEELE on morning of 20th June, 1918, Private WAKEMAN was in charge of a Lewis Gun Section which suffered severely. Notwithstandidng this he pushed well on to the objective and succeeded in silencing an enemy Machine Gun which was holding up the left flank of another Platoon. Throughout he showed fine leadership and gallantry, and set a splendid example to his comrades.'
