Evacuated to hospital, 27 October 1915; admitted to General Hospital, Gibraltar, 7 November 1915; transferred to England, 23 November 1915; to Beaufort War Hospital, Bristol, 28 November 1915. Placed on Supernumerary List, 31 January 1916. Promoted to Acting Sergeant (without pay), AIF Training Centre, Tidworth, 21 July 1916. Marched out to Assistant Provost Marshal, 19 August 1916. Transferred to, and taken on strength of Anzac Provost Corps, 1 January 1917. Transferred to 7th Light Horse Regiment, 26 June 1917. Embarked Southampton, 19 July 1917; disembarked Alexandria, 4 August 1917, and marched into 2nd Light Horse Training Regiment, Moascar, the same day.
