Military Medal 'During the attack at BEAUREVOIR, near ST. QUENTIN, on 3rd October, 1918, Private WALLACE got his machine gun into action single handed when the remainder of his gun team were casualties, including the gun commander. When the machine gun was put out of action by enemy machine gun fire he attended wounded, collected the gun gear and ammunition over to a neighbouring machine gun which was still in action. This action, which was of great value, necessitated several trips over ground exposed to enemy shell fire and snipers, and the individual initiative and gallantry shown by Private WALLACE was very marked.'
