Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When some of his officers became casualties in an attack, he took charge, and led their platoons to the attack in a courageous and efficient manner. When the line bec ame disorganized owing to casualties, he re-organized it by his personal example and the confidence and determination with which he handled his men.
