Military Medal 'Near PASSCHENDAELE RIDGE on the 12th October, 1917 this man was a runner and passed through the enemy barrages on numerous occasions. He volunteered as Stretcher Bearer and guided parties to the front line. He did splendid work as a Guide to the incoming Battalion. His courage was a great incentive to all men near him.'
