War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front

Served at Gallipoli. Transferred to HS 'Gloucester Castle', 24 November 1915; to Malta, 28 November 1915, and admitted to St Patrick's Hospital. Commenced return to Egypt, 13 February 1916; disembarked at Alexandria, 18 February 1916.

Proceeded from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 25 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 30 March 1916.

Died of wounds sustained in action, 11 February 1917.
