War service: Western Front Embarked Fremantle on HMAT 'Suevic', 31 May 1916; disembarked Plymouth, 21 July 1916. Admitted to Delhi Hospital, Tidworth, 27 July 1916; discharged to 3rd Training Bn, Perham Downs, 7 August 1916. Proceeded to France, to 5 September 1916; marched into 1st Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 6 September 1916; joined 11th Bn in the field, 17 September 1916; taken as prisoner of war, 15 May 1917, and interned in prison camp for duration of hostilities, Limberg.
