Meritorious Service Medal

'During the period September 17th to December 31st, 1918, this Non Commissioned Officer has rendered excellent service, and displayed great devotion to duty. His work, which is of the utmost importance in a battery, has been performed in a thoroughly efficient and capable manner. At most critical times Fitter/Sergeant WATERSON has succeeded in maintaining the guns in action with absolute disregard of fatigue and hardship, and often working under heavy hostile fire has shown exceptional coolness and courage in very trying circumstances.'
