Embarked Adelaide, 16 December 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 16 February 1917, and marched in to 8th Training Bn, Hurdcott.

Admitted to Fovant Hospital, 29 March 1917; marched in to No 3 Command Depot, Hurdcott, from hospital, 4 May 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 9 July 1917; taken on strength, 32nd Bn, in the field, 1 August 1917.

Admitted to 8th Australian Field Ambulance, 30 November 1917 (myalgia), and transferred to 5th Divisional Rest Station; discharged to duty, and rejoined Bn, 12 December 1917.

Wounded in action, 5 September 1918 (shrapnel wound, right wrist: severe), and admitted to 5th Australian Field Ambulance, and then transferred to 41st Casualty Clearing Station; to Ambulance Train No 6, 7 September 1918, and admitted to 12th General Hospital, Rouen, 8 September 1918; transferred to England, 10 September 1918, and admitted to 2nd Southern General Hospital, Bristol, 12 September 1918; discharged on furlough, 11 November 1918, to report to No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 25 November 1918.

Marched in to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 3 December 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Morvada', 4 January 1919; disembarked Adelaide (wounded), 18 February 1919; discharged (medically unfit), Adelaide, 18 August 1919.
