' For conspicuous gallantry and decotion to duty. During an attack on the enemy trenches this N.C.O. with his party rushed a defence post, capturing two machine guns with their crew. He also dealt wiht several dug outs entering them wiht total disregard of danger, and brought in thirty prisoners. His determination and offensive spirit were invaluable in this attack'
