War service: taken on strength, 5th Light Horse Regiment, Gallipoli, 2 October 1915.

Admitted to HS 'Soudan', 10 October 1915 (mumps); transferred to Military Hospital, Malta, 13 October 1915; to Ghan Tuffeha, 15 November 1915; embarked for Egypt, 7 December 1915, and admitted to Overseas Base, Ghezireh, 13 December 1915. Rehoined 5th Light Horse Regiment, Maadi, 14 January 1916.

Transferred to 11th Light Horse Regiment, 22 February 1916.

Wounded in action, 19 April 1917 (right finger); remained at duty.

Admitted to Rest Camp, Port Said, 19 July 1918; rejoined unit, 28 August 1918.

Admitted to 4th Light Horse Field Ambulance, 19 July 1918 (pyrexia); transferred to 66th Casualty Clearing Station, 21 July 1918; to 76th Casualty Clearing Station, 23 July 1918; to 24th Stationary Hospital, 24 July 1918; to 31st General Hospital, Abbassia, 28 July 1918; to Convalescent Depot, Boulac, 31 July 1918; discharged to duty, 8 August 1918; rejoined unit, 30 August 1918.
