Military Medal 'This man was detailed as an emergency bearer and carried wounded all night on the 4th/5th November, 1916 from the front line to NORTH FLERS Dressing Station under very heavy Artillery and Machine Gun fire, and subsequently cheerfully responded to the call for collecting the wounded from "No Mans Land" Reg. Aid Post, during the performance of which duty one bearer Lieutenant Corporal Fleming was killed and this man himself was severely wounded.'
