Taken on strength of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Maadi, 28 December 1915; marched out to Serapeum, 25 February 1916.

Struck down with illness, Bir Etmaler, 23 June 1916; admitted to 31st General Hospital, Port Said, 24 June 1916; transferred to 3rd Australian General Hospital, Cairo, 27 June 1916 (general debility).

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on HT 'Seeang Choon', 17 July 1916; disembarked Melbourne, 18 August 1916. Discharged as being medically unfit for service, Sydney, 9 September 1916.
