Wounded in action, 10 May 1915 (gun shot wound, right knee), and admitted to 88th Field Ambulance; transferred same day to 11th Casualty Clearing Station; to Malta, 18 May 1915; embarked from Malta 'fit for active service', 12 July 1915. Admitted to Australian Overseas Base, Mustapha, Alexandria, 16 July 1915. Admitted to Military Hospital, Tigne, 28 September 1915 (gun shot wound, right knee); transferred to Convalescent Camp, Spinola, 18 October 1915; embarked for Egypt, 7 December 1915; disembarked Alexandria, 13 December 1915; rejoined 7th Bn, Tel el Kebir, 19 January 1916.
