Military Medal 'During the attack of the 4th Australian Division on morning of 11th April 1917 and the enemy attack on the morning of the 15th instant, Gunner WHITTAKER exhibited marked bravery and resourcefulness under very heavy and continuous shell fire. He succeeded in maintaining communication between his Battery and O.P. during both operations, though lines were many times cut.'
