Meritorious Service Medal 'For meritorious service and devotion to duty during the period 25th February 1918 to 16th September 1918. He has at all times displayed the greatest ability and resource in the performance of his duties. During the operations in August and early September 1918 on the SOMME he has had charge of the Divisional Motor Ambulance Cars evacuating wounded, and, by his skill and conduct, has at all times succeeded in assuring the efficient working of this branch of the service. He has shown a splendid example of cheerful and untiring devotion to duty which has inspired all ranks with whom he has come in contact.'
