War service: Disembarked ex 'Wiltshire' at Suez, 10 May 1916. Reallotted to 15th Training Battalion as Reinforcements to 58th Battalion, Tel-el-Kebir, 19 May 1916. Embarked to join British Expeditionary Force per HMT 'Ivernia', Alexandria, 21 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 30 June 1916.

Marched out to active service 26 August 1916; taken on strength, 57th Battalion, 29 August 1916.

To England on leave 20 August 1917; returned from leave 1 September 1917. To hospital 8 October 1917, discharged to duty 21 October 1917, rejoined unit 28 October 1917.

To England on leave 17 October 1918, rejoined from leave 2 November 1918; marched out to Base Depot for return to Australia, 24 March 1919.

Returned to Australia per 'Orontes', disembarked, 3rd Military District, 28 June 1919.
