Military Medal

'At MESSINES from 7th till 12th June 1917. During the above dates he carried out the duty of Regt. stretcher bearer with determination and courage of the highest order. Private WILKINSON assisted in bringing in wounded of his own and other Units from all parts of the battlefield in broad daylight despite the fact that the enemy were sniping at everybody who showed above the parapet. His work throughout shone out as very brilliant devotion to duty.'
