Meritorious Service Medal 'At POZIERES, FRANCE, from 17/8/16 to 19/8/16 Sergeant BRINDLEY was in charge of an advanced Signal Station in POZIERES and showed conspicuous ability and devotion to duty by the manner in which he kept telephonic communications between BNS in action and Bde HQ. He also displayed coolness by repairing these lines under very heavy enemy shell fire, thus setting a fine example to the men of his detachment.'
