Distinguished Conduct Medal 'He displayed marked gallantry at the attack on Es Salt on 30 April 1918. He shot several enemy whilst both he and they were galloping, and with the aid of six other men held up a motor tractor and captured about twenty armed enemy and a driver. He showed great dash and determination during this attack.'
