Distinguished Conduct Medal 'During the attack on Montbrehain on 5 October, 1918, he showed great courage and ability to command. On three occasions when his company was held up by enemy machine gun fire, he organized one section for covering the fire, and led the attack on the strong posts over exposed ground.'
