Found guilty, Mudros, 9 October 1915, of improper conduct in the ranks, 8 October: awarded 3 days' confined to barracks.

Disembarked Alexandria, 28 December 12915 (general Gallipoli evacuation).

Found guilty, Tel el Kebir, 12 January 1916, of (1) being drunk on Railway Station about 7 pm, 31 December; (2) being absent without leave from 7 pm, 29 December, to 7 pm, 31 December 1915: awarded 21 days' Field Punishment No 2, asnd forfeited 3 days' pay under Royal Warrant.

Found guilty, 28 January 1916, of (1) being absent from Camp from Tatto, 23 January, to 9 pm, 25 January 1916; being absent from 8 am parade, 27 January 1916; (3) being absent from duty, 27 January 1916: awarded 28 days' Field Punishment No 2, and forfeited 3 days' pay under Royal Warrant.

Admitted to 3rd Australian field Ambulance, 1 February 1916 (cardiac), and transferred to 2nd Australian Stationary Hospital; to Hospital Train, 2 February 1916, and admitted to No 2 Australian General Hospital, Ghezireh (valvular disorder of the heart); transferred to No 2 Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 13 February 1919.

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HT 'Argyllshire', 8 March 1916; discharged (medically unfit: valvular disease of the heart), Sydney, 11 September 1916.
