Military Medal 'At Villers-Bretonneux during the operations on the night of 24/25th April, 1918, these men set a splendid example of courage and devotion to duty. They repeatedly volunteered for dangerous patrol work and their reliability and cheerfulness made them invaluable to their company commander. They volunteered to go forward to find out the position of a hostile machine-gun. They were successful and this information enabled our Lewis gun to beat down the hostile fire.'
