Meritorious Service Medal 'During the Operations East of YPRES in which his Battalion was engaged in October, 1917, this N.C.O. rendered sterling service in supplying the men of his Company with hot food under most trying and dangerous conditions. His care for the comfort and welfare of his men has always been most marked and his work throughout has been of a high standard.'
