Medals |
Meritorious Service Medal 'For consistently good work and devotion to duty from 25th February to 16th September, 1918, as Orderly Room Sergeant. In the operations in August, owing to casualties among the orderly room staff, Sergeant WILSON had to shoulder the bulk of the work; working night and day under the most adverse conditions though at the time suffering from ill-health he stuck to his duty and carried it out in the most capable manner. Besides his clerical duty his work in action in reconnoitring and fitting up new sites for Battalion Headquarters has been extremely valuable and very often of a very dangerous character. The thoroughly capable and conscientious manner in which this N.C.O. has carried out his duties with the Battalion are deserving of the highest praise while his daring attempts to ascertain the casualties and strengths of the Companies when in action are well-worthy of reward.'
