Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, 26 September 1917; discharged to duty, 30 September 1917.

Found guilty, 8 November 1917, of leaving Camp without a pass: awarded forfeiture of 1 day's pay.

On leave, 12 February 1918; rejoined unit, 3 March 1918.

Wounded in action, 24 April 1918; admitted to 25th Field Ambulance, 25 April 1918 (shrapnel wound to right foot); transferred to 2nd Casualty Clearing Station, 27 April 1918; to England, 10 May 1918; admitted to Reading War Hospital, England, 12 May 1918; transferred to 2nd Auxiliary Hospital, Southall, 27 May 1918; discharged to Hurdcott Command Depot, 22 June 1918; marched in to Sutton Veny Command Depot, 11 September 1918; marched in to Weymouth Command Depot, 25 October 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Tanaka', 24 December 1918; disembarked Melbourne, 11 February 1919; discharged, 3 April 1919.
