Admitted to 6th Field Ambulance, 17 October 1915 (haemorrhoids), and transferred same day to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station; to No 2 Auxiliary Convalescent Depot, Heliopolis, 20 October 1915; to No 3 Auxiliary Hospital, 7 March 1916 (haemorrhoids); to Ras el Tin Convalescent Hospital, Alexandria, 23 March 1916; to British Red Cross Convalescent Depot, Montazah (date not recorded). Taken on strength, 60th Bn, Duntroon Plateau, 20 April 1916. Found guilty, 20 May 1916, of being absent without leave from afternoon parade: awarded 4 days' pack drill.
