Military Medal 'On the morning of 2nd March, 1917, the enemy put a heavy barrage on a line of posts held by this Battalion to the north of THILLOY, following this up by an assault by a strong party. These were held up by the fire of the advanced posts, and Cpl. WINSLETT with two men went out in daylight into NO MAN'S LAND, outflanked a party of about twelve of the enemy, some of whom he shot, and returned with five prisoners.'
