Meritorious Service Medal

'For distinguished Conduct and devotion to duty in the Field. Since leaving AUSTRALIA in 1914 this W.O. has displayed consistent coolness and gallantry in Action coupled with ability to load men and set them a praiseworthy example of endurance under the hardships and dangers of Active Service. As C.S.M. he has been of great value to his Company both in and out of the line from September 1917 to February 1918. He has been brought to notice for distinguished conduct in every Action of his Battalion in FRANCE.'
