Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He volunteered to take out a patrol and penetrating some distance into enemy territory, examined dug outs and pill boxes. On the following evening he again took a patrol some 300 yards beyond out front, although enemy snipers had already caused several casualties.'
