War service: Egypt, Palestine. Taken on strength of 9th Light Horse Regiment, Heliopolis, 28 December 1915. Marched out 9th Light Horse Regiment, and proceeded to Serapeum, 27 February 1916. To Rest Camp, Port Said, 7 November 1916; rejoined 9th Light Horse Regiment, 13 November 1916. Wounded in action, Palestine, 19 April 1917; admitted to No 1 Light Horse Ambulance, 19 April 1917, and transferred to Casualty Clearing Station, the same day (gunshot wound, left ankle); to No 14 Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 28 April 1917; to British Red Cross Convalescent Hospital, Montazah, 26 June 1917; discharged, 23 July 1917, and marched into 3rd Light Horse Training Regiment, Moascar, the same day. Proceeded to unit, 31 August 1917; rejoined 9th Light Horse Regiment, 2 September 1917. Appointed Driver, 5 September 1917. To Rest Camp, Port Said, 17 June 1918; rejoined unit, 1 July 1918. Evacuated to hospital, 30 September 1918; admitted to Australian Reception Station, 30 September 1918, and transferred, 2 October 1918. Died, at sea, 8 October 1918. Buried at sea by Chaplain L.G.M.
