Military Medal 'For great gallantry near MOUQUET FARM. This man who is a stretcher bearer during a night attack on 14th/15th August, 1916, displayed great courage and resource continuously bandaging wounded under heavy fire and placing them in shell holes. Later after day break he carried man after man in under fire from shell holes into our front trenches.'
