Military Medal

'At VILLERS BRETONNEUX during the period of 24th/28th April, 1918, Lance Corporal WRAY, No. 1 Lewis Gunner, showed conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He advanced, leading his section to a forward position and kept the enemy machine guns quiet, thus allowing our Infantry to advance. This N.C.O. moved out into No Man's Land and kept up constant fire on the enemy whilst the remainder of his platoon dug in. The manner in which he used his gun and initiative shown by him was of the highest order and deserves special recognition.'
