Embarked Alexandria on HT 'Ivernia' and proceeded to join Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, 4 September 1915.

Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, Gallipoli Peninsular, 18 September 1915 (shrapnel wound, thigh and foot); transferred to 16th Casualty Clearing Station, 18 September 1915. Embarked Gallipoli on HS 'Maheno', 19 September 1915; disembarked Malta, 23 September 1915, and admitted to Cottonereal Hospital; adjudged dangerously ill by Commander-in-Chief, 14 November 1915; adjudged dangerously ill by Commander-in-Chief, 28 November 1915.

Died of wounds, Malta, 28 November 1915 (compound fracture, left femur). Buried in Addolorata Cemetery, Malta, 28 November 1915.
