Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary force, , 19 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916.

Admitted to 14th Field Ambulance, 15 October 1916 (pneumonia); transferred to No 1 Casualty Clearing Station, and thence by Ambulance Train to 9th British Red Cross Hospital, Calais; died of lobar pneumonia, 20 October 1916.
