'This sapper has repeatedly displayed great resource and courage in the execution of his duty, in paticular on the 2nd May 197 when the forward buried cable was blown out by enemy shell fire near BULLECOURT. He located the break and regardless of all personal risk, worked rapidly at resoring communication, remaining at the task for 4 1/2 hours until his work was completed.'
