Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For gallant and able leadership during April 1918, at Gentelles. He did excellent work at Joncourt, on 3 October, 1918, when all the officers of his company became casualties; he took charge, and ably conducted the consolidation of the position gained. He remained in the position until his company, consisting of twelve men, was relieved twelve hours later.'
