Meritorious Service Medal

'For good services rendered in the period under review. This N.C.O. is a good leader, and his work as a C.Q.M.S. has been of the utmost value to his Commanding Officer. He has displayed marked ability in carrying out his duties. During the many long and tiring route marches this man has been an inspiration to all ranks, and his work at the end of a long day's march has always shown great forethought, and has greatly increased the comfort and health of his men. During the past four years this N.C.O. has rendered exceptionally valuable service to the Unit.'
