Distinguished Conduct Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and cool perseverance near Peronne, 30 August to 5 September, 1918. He rendered valuable assistance in the construction of footbridges over the Somme Valley. He also completed a stretcher track at the entrance to Peronne and later maintained parties on the railway bridges at Flamicourt, then in the hands of the enemy.'
