Embarked Sydney, 16 July 1917; admitted to hospital, Durban, South Africa, 11 August 1917; re-embarked Durban on board HT ‘Kenilworth Castle’, 7 September 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, 12 October 1917. Marched in to 12th Training Bn, Codford, 17 October 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 1 January 1918; taken on strength, 43rd Bn, in the field, 5 January 1918.

Admitted to 11th Australian Field Ambulance, 23 May 1918 (influenza); transferred same day to 5th Casualty Clearing Station; discharged same day to duty; rejoined Bn, 2 June 1918.

On leave, 6 January 1919; rejoined Bn, 22 January 1919.

Detached to Divisional Football Tour, 19 February 1919; rejoined Bn, 27 March 1919.

Detached to Brigade Headquarters, 12 April 1919; rejoined Bn, 1 May 1919.

Admitted to 39th General Hospital, 4 May 1919 (scabies); discharged, 6 May 1919.

Marched out to England for return to Australia, 8 May 1919.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT ‘Wiltshire’, 4 July 1919; disembarked Adelaide, 16 August 1919; discharged, Adelaide, 17 September 1919.
