Admitted to 5 Casualty Clearing Station, 23 July 1918 (wounded, gassed); transferred to 41st Stationary Hospital, 23 July 1918; to 2nd Stationary Hospital, Abbeville, 6 August 1918; to Command Depot, Havre, 9 August 1918; discharged to Base Depot, 5 September 1918; marched out to unit, 9 September 1918; rejoined unit, 10 September 1918.

Wounded in action, France, 6 October 1918; admitted to 58 Casualty Clearing Station, 6 October 1918 (gun shot wound, right shoulder); transferred to Ambulance Train, 6 October 1918; to 3rd Stationary Hospital, Rouen; embarked for England, 9 October 1918; admitted to Beaufort War Hospital, Bristol, 10 October 1918; discharged on furlough, 15 November 1918, to report to No 1 Command Depot, Sutton Veny, 29 November 1918.

Commenced return to Australia, from England, on board HT �Bakara�, 22 December 1918; disembarked Melbourne, 14 February 1919; discharged (medically unfit), 1 March 1919.
