Admitted to Fargo Hospital, 26 July 1917 (pleurisy and broncho-pneumonia; discharged to duty, 6 August 1917.

On Command, Officer Cadet Unit, Cambridge, 4 January 1918; admitted to 1st Eastern General Hospital, Cambridge, 23 May 1918 (not yet diagnosed); discharged from hospital, 30 June 1918; appointed 2nd Lieutenant, 2 July 1918.

Proceeded overseas to France, 19 July 1918; taken on strength, 24th Bn, in the field, 22 July 1918.

Killed in action, 1 September 1918.
